Which Moldable Sensory-Play Brand is Best?
As I’m trying to be more intentional with having sensory activities available for my kids, I’m finding that these toys are MESSY! One day, I took all the kids to Target, and bought one of each: Play-Doh, Slime, Kinetic Sand, Thinking Putty, and Mad Matter, to see which they liked better, and to see which ones I could stand having around constantly. Here’s our opinion on the positives and negatives of each. Play-Doh is an old classic. I really avoided Play-Doh for many years while my older children were young because it was so messy. Once I started learning about sensory needs, I decided to let them try it.

Words are Powerful; Are Yours Empowering or Destroying?
Our words are powerful! The power of our words is stronger than many of us know and understand. Did you know that God spoke the world, as we know it, into existence? Have you ever thought that your words have the power to build up or to destroy? Did you know that as you speak death over someone, it has negative power over them? The bible even has many places where it tells us about the power of our words. We can’t just say whatever we want and have it happen, but our words influence the atmosphere around us. Overcoming Idols in Life – A Difficult Journey
What comes to mind when you hear the word “idols”? Is it statues made out of gold? Is it a celebrity figure? How to Have Peace in Times of Pressure
“How are you so peaceful?” a new acquaintance asked me one day. “When I look at you, all I see is peace.” I took that as the greatest complement I could be given. Unfortunately, I wasn’t super confident in how to answer her. Since that day, the question has come back to mind a number of times. Both at times when I wasn't “feeling” very peaceful, and at times when I was. I’ve been thinking more about the process I went through, and how to answer that question better. My peace has been such a blessing during 2020. It is important to share more about how that peace has settled…

How to Get Picky Eaters to Eat Without Losing Your Mind
When I first became a parent, I put a lot of pressure on myself to make sure my kids had the best nutrition possible. I served a variety of healthy foods and received an overload of advice on how to make kids eat everything. My first kid liked most anything I put in front of her and all the “advice” I was following worked wonderfully. Unfortunately, even though I followed the same plan, my next couple kids did not eat everything or even try everything. Picky eating can be stressful and challenging. I’m going to share a bit about our journey and how we’ve been able to get our picky…
